February 5th 2026 — Community Growth & Development discussion at The Legacy of Argyle (formerly the L. A. Rossing Building) Argyle, WI

We joined our neighbors, business owners, and local leaders for a community discussion session focused on the growth and development in our communities. The meeting was held in the historic Legacy of Argyle, a prominent landmark built in 1912 and located at the busy intersection in downtown Argyle, just steps from the Pecatonica River and the rolling hills of southwestern Wisconsin.

About the venue

  • Built in 1912 as the L. A. Rossing family store, the building is a lasting piece of Argyle history and offers high visibility for businesses and community events.

  • Historic features include oak banisters, hardwood floors, tin ceilings, skylights, and a four-floor utility elevator.

  • A new roof was installed in 2020.

Topics discussed

  • Small business retention and attraction: storefront activation, incentives, and marketing.

  • Downtown streets cape and historic preservation: lighting, signage, sidewalks, and building maintenance.

  • Housing and Business: local housing needs, new subdivisions, business parks and affordable options.

  • Events and tourism: seasonal markets and community events and the best ways to advertise.

  • Partnerships and funding: grants, local investment, and regional collaboration.
