Sewer Plant Bypass Notification

FO Notification: Village of Orfordville 4/18/2026

This is a Public Notification of a Treatment Plant Overflow as required by NR210.21(5). Due to recent heavy rains and saturated conditions on the evening of 4/17/2026 the Orfordville WWTP made the decision to bypass approximately 45,000 gallons of raw influent into Swan Creek that sits adjacent to the facility. The decision was made to ensure there was no irreparable damage to the facility or it's equipment. The bypass last approximately 3 hours from 8:30pm to 11:30 pm the evening of the 17th.  Due to the duration and location of the bypass little public health or environmental impact should be expected.

Storm Damage Reminder

Following recent storms, residents may notice an increase in door-to-door contractors and salespeople.

The Village of Orfordville reminds residents:

  • Anyone going door-to-door to sell products or services is required to have a Village license and must display it upon request.

  • Before agreeing to any work: Ask to see their Village-issued license

  • Do not feel pressured into immediate decisions

  • Get multiple quotes and verify businesses independently

  • If a solicitor cannot provide proper identification or a license, you are encouraged to decline.

Stay safe, Orfordville.
