NATIONAL POLICE WEEK- May 15 -21, 2026
Each year during the week of May 15, National Police Week recognizes the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers across the country. Every day they put on their uniforms not knowing what the day will bring. They have answered a call to public service that is demanding and often underappreciated.
Although the keynote events take place in Washington, D.C., communities everywhere can take part. The week is dedicated to honoring the fallen and supporting survivors and their families through tributes, candlelight vigils, grief seminars, programs for all ages, a gala, and a memorial service.
We want to thank the Orfordville Police Department for their commitment to keeping our village safe. Your professionalism, courage, and daily willingness to serve make our community stronger. We appreciate the sacrifices you and your families make so that our residents can live, work, and play with greater peace of mind.
On behalf of the Village of Orfordville, thank you for your service and dedication.

Public Works Week – May 17-23, 2026
This year’s theme, “Rooted in Service, Powered by Community,” recognizes the deep foundations of public works and the vital role they play in everyday life. Visible projects—like roads and bridges—shape how we move and connect. Equally essential, though less noticed, are the systems that run beneath our streets: water, sewer, stormwater, and other utilities that protect health and enable growth.
Together, these visible and unseen efforts create the infrastructure of thriving communities. Every maintenance call, repair, and improvement strengthens the link between public service and the people it supports. Our public works team’s dedication keeps Orfordville safe, functional, and ready for tomorrow.
Thank you to the Orfordville Public Works Department for your steady care, skilled work, and commitment to our community.
