Construction Project for Highway 213

September 1st ,2026

A few questions have arisen regarding the roundabout status at Hwy 213 and Q.  All work on this intersection was stopped on July 31st due to Spectrum.  They were notified a year ago about the upcoming construction but never moved their fiber lines in the area out of the construction zone.  Up until August 25th, they have not bothered to reply to any e-mail or phone calls to provide a schedule to complete their move.  They finally responded and met onsite this morning to stake out the route for the new lines.  This will delay project completion to approximately December 18th.   They hope to start the move on Thursday and will take about 2 weeks to complete. Milling and Paving is expected to start on September 28th through October 9th on one lane from the roundabout to Hwy 11, once done they will complete the other lane in the same manner. The railroad will be reconstructing the crossing at S. Center St and Beloit St. Project is scheduled to start October 5th and expected to take about a week to complete. West Beloit St. curb and gutter is substantially completed.  This work will continue on East Beloit St. As always, schedule is tentative due to unforeseen circumstances that may arise.

Added back to school comment from Dennis Burtness "We thought it best to update everyone before school starts tomorrow regarding traffic flow and parking.  Crews have backfilled most of the curbs and sidewalks in front of the high school and this area will be available as usual for school traffic and parking during drop-off and pickup times.  There are some parking changes that need to be mentioned.  The high school parking lot is NO LONGER an option for anyone other than staff and students.  Residents can still park at the grade school along the Purdy Park side of the parking lot only.  In addition, parking continues to be available at the municipal lot by the fire station and Village Hall.  Residents along Beloit St can park on side streets as needed.  We have been made aware that some comments have been made about using the Station parking lot at 213 and 11 as a drop-off/pickup area.  This is a PRIVATE lot that is open to the public for Station business.  It is NOT to be used for school traffic.  As always, be sure to allow extra time for travel through the construction area and watch for the safety of the workers!"
