VILLAGE OF ORFORDVILLE

Regular Board Meeting

Monday, March 24, 2025  7:00 P.M.

CALL TO ORDER

                Acting President Nikki Tuffree called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Present were Acting President Tuffree, David Olsen, Terry Gerber, and Terry Morris.  Also present were Chief Jeremiah Burdick, DPW Director Nick Todd, and Clerk Sherri Waege.  Absent were President Dennis Burtness, Cami Myers-Alstat, and Beth Schmidt.

AGENDA VERIFICATION

                Clerk Waege verified that on March 21, 2025, copies of the agenda were delivered to the President and Trustees; and posted at the Library, Village Hall, and the Post Office.  There were no additions made to the agenda.

MINUTE APPROVAL

                Motion by Morris, seconded by Gerber to approve the March 10, 2025 minutes.  Motion carried.

CITIZENS WISHING TO BE HEARD

                None.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

                None.

NEW BUSINESS

                Personnel Policy.  Discussion held on the Personnel Policy as revised by Attorney Bryan Whitehead, based on previous discussion.   Motion by Morris, seconded by Gerber to approve the amended Personnel Policy as revised.  Motion carried.

TREASURER REPORT

                Motion by Morris, seconded by Gerber to approve the February Treasurer Report.  Motion carried.

VOUCHERS

                Motion by Morris, seconded by Gerber to approve the vouchers with a check range of 38143-38159.  Motion carried.

VILLAGE PRESIDENTS UPDATE

                There was no update as President Burtness was not present.   Acting President Nikki Tuffree wanted to remind everyone that the Spring Fling will be held on April 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Orfordville Library.

                Clerk Waege explained that there were two things that she wanted to mention:

1.The Village received notification today that the Fire Department was awarded a $100,000.00 Innovation Planning Grant from the State of Wisconsin.

2.  Clerk Waege wanted to mention that there was a person in the previous week that was suffering             from some mental health issues.   Clerk Waege wanted the Village Board to know that Officer Jeremiah Burdick Jr. did a tremendous job of handling the situation and treated the person very professionally with understanding and kindness.

                Motion by Morris, seconded by Olsen to adjourn at 7:12 p.m.  Motion carried.
