VILLAGE OF ORFORDVILLE

Annual Organizational Meeting

Tuesday, April 21, 2026  6:00 P.M.

CALL TO ORDER

                President Dennis Burtness called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.  Present were President Burtness, David Olsen, Nick Howard, Nikki Tuffree, and Tory Baars.   Also present were Chief Jeremiah Burdick and Clerk Sherri Waege.  Absent were Terry Morris and Beth Schmidt.

AGENDA VERIFICATION

                Clerk Waege verified that on April  17, 2026, copies of the agenda were delivered to the President and Trustees; and posted at the Village Hall, Library, and the Post Office.  There were no additions made to the agenda.

R-2026-02 COMMITTEES AND APPOINTMENTS

                Motion by Olsen, seconded by Howard to adopt Resolution R-2026-02 setting 2026-2027 Committee’s and Appointments.  Motion carried.

PRESIDENTS UPDATE TO NEW BOARD MEMBER

                President Burtness welcomed Tory Baars as a new Village Trustee.  President Burtness provided Baars with a copy of Resolution R-2024-05 which is the Village’s Social Media Policy and also a document outlining Village Board responsibilities and conduct.  

                President Burtness also updated the Village Board on the following:

·          Highway 213/Beloit Street Project- sidewalks and curb repairs will begin in May.  The State has not provided a firm date on the pavement milling as of yet.

·         Rime Ridge Development is ongoing.

·         Working on revisions to the Developer’s Agreement with Next Generation for Rime Ridge and Mill Valley.

·         The Business Park is close to being full.

·         The Rose Connection is doing an addition which has been approved by the Architectural Control Committee.

·         Ace Hardware is building three additional storage structures.

·         The American Legion is planning a 250th celebration.

                Motion by Howard, seconded by Tuffree to adjourn at 6:15 p.m.  Motion carried.
