CALL TO ORDER

                President Dennis Burtness called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Present were President Burtness, David Olsen, Beth Schmidt, Nick Howard, Nikki Tuffree, Terry Gerber, and Terry Morris.  Also present were Jonathan Morales, Christian Rodriquez, Chief Jeremiah Burdick, DPW Director Nick Todd, and Clerk Sherri Waege.

AGENDA VERIFICATION

                Clerk Waege verified that copies of the agenda were delivered to the President and Trustees; and posted at the Library, Village Hall, and the Post Office.  There were no additions made to the agenda.

MINUTE APPROVAL

                Motion by Morris, seconded by Gerber to approve the June 9, 2025 minutes. Motion carried.

RESOLUTION R-2025-07

President Burtness moved approval of Resolution R-2025-07 up on the agenda.    DPW Director Todd explained the  Compliance Maintenance Annual Resolution which is the annual report card for the Wastewater Treatment Plant.  Motion by Tuffree, seconded by Schmidt to approve Resolution R-2025-07, the annual Compliance Maintenance Resolution for the Wastewater Treatment Plant.  Motion carried.

CITIZENS WISHING TO BE HEARD

                Jonathan Morales and Christian Rodriquez of 604 N. Maple Street were present.  Morales explained that they recently purchased 604 N. Maple Street and would like some trees removed.  Morales explained that the trees are in the dedicated roadway but fell from the school side of the property.   President Burtness explained that the item is not on the agenda, so no action can be taken.   President Burtness further explained that the Village will look into the trees in the dedicated roadway and the village will get back to Morales. 

NEW BUSINESS

                Operator Licenses.   Chief Burdick explained that he recommended approval for all of the applicants with the exception of one who will be getting a letter from the Clerk.  Motion by Gerber, seconded by Schmidt to approve the Police Committee Recommendation to grant Operator Licenses to expire June 30, 2026 to the following: :  Alizabeth Akkerman, Travis Alseth, Lori Boers, Victoire Bulabula, Joseph Collins, Carter Dieckhoff,   Lori Francis, Sandra Giddley. Abby Huffman, Alexia Kerl, Kelly Martin,  Brianna McBroom,  Courtney Mielke, Terry Morris, Dawn Muenchow, Beth Nalan, Jacob Nelson,  Addison Olson, Hannah Pakes,  Madisin Parmer, Kelly Phillips, Karl Sarbacker, Michael Thibeau, Morgan Turner, and  Analyse Worachek.  Roll Call Vote-Olsen, Schmidt, Howard, Tuffree, Gerber and President Burtness-YES, Morris-ABSTAIN.   Motion carried.

                Alcohol License Renewals.  Motion by Gerber, seconded by Morris to approve the following Alcohol Licenses to expire June 30, 2026:  Class “A”  Fermented Malt Beverage and “Class A Intoxicating Liquor License” to The Station Orfordville LLC, Rupesh Karki, Agent of 222 N. Franklin Street, Janesville Wisconsin for premises located at  616 W. Beloit Street.  Class “A” Fermented Malt Beverage and “Class A Intoxicating Liquor License” to Dollgen Corp LLC, Lori Boers Agent, 513 W. Beloit Street, Orfordville,  Wisconsin  for premises located at 507 N. Main Street, Orfordville, Wisconsin

 

Class “B” Fermented Malt Beverage and “Class B Intoxicating Liquor License” to Bricks & Stones, Brooklyn Weeks, Owner of 4122 S. Dickey Road,  Orfordville, Wisconsin for premises located at 214 Viking Drive, Orfordville, Wisconsin.   Class “B” Fermented Malt Beverage and “Class B Intoxicating Liquor License” to The Stables Bar & Grill, Lori Mueller of 3138 S. Tollefson Road, Orfordville,  Wisconsin for premises located at 717 Genesis Drive, Orfordville, Wisconsin.   Class “B” Fermented Malt Beverage and “Class B Intoxicating Liquor” License to Knutes Bar & Grill, Kerry Knutson of 417 W. Centre Street, Footville, Wisconsin for premises located at 206 E. Beloit Street, Orfordville, Wisconsin.  Class “B” Fermented Malt Beverage and “Class B Intoxicating Liquor License” to Taqueria Guzman, Richard Arzate Salgado, Owner,  of 925 Hackett Street, Beloit, Wisconsin for premises located at 100 E. Spring Street, Orfordville, Wisconsin.   Motion carried.

                Approval to Sell Polaris Trail Boss.   Chief Burdick explained he would like to sell the Polaris four-wheeler that was purchased for the department prior to him being Chief.  Chief Burdick explained that the four-wheeler has never worked properly, and there are numerous things wrong with it.  Chief Burdick further explained that the Department does  not need it.   Discussion held on selling it or listing it on the Wisconsin Surplus Auction site.  Chief Burdick explained that he has someone that has offered the Village $500.00 if the Village wants to sell it.  No action was taken by the Board.  Chief Burdick has authority under ordinance to sell the Polaris for less than $500.00.  Chief Burdick explained that he will sell it for $499.00.  No action was taken by the Board. 

TREASURER REPORT

                Motion by Tuffree, seconded by Morris to approve the May Treasurer’s Report.  Motion carried.

VILLAGE PRESIDENTS UPDATE

President Burtness stated the following:  “I would like to thank Darla Grenawalt, Tori Baars, Audra Nelson, Vickie Marchant, and all other volunteers  for their hard work in planning, coordinating and spending many hours during the June Days events to make this all happen.  Next Sunday, June 29th, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm is our 125th open house celebration here at Village Hall.  Walk through the years as the pictures, captions and paragraphs describe life in the village.  Food and beverages will be available.  Memorabilia are available to order on https://orfordvillewi.gov/events/orfordville-125-th-anniversay-party.”
