CALL TO ORDER
President Dennis Burtness called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present were President Burtness, David Olsen, Nick Howard, Nikki Tuffree, Terry Morris, and Tory Baars. Also present were Attorney Bryce Becker, Tayna Burtness, Chief Jeremiah Burdick, and Clerk Sherri Waege. Absent was Beth Schmidt.
AGENDA VERIFICATION
Clerk Waege verified that on July 24, 2026, copies of the agenda were delivered to the President and Trustees; and posted at the Village Hall, Library, and the Post Office. There were no additions made to the agenda.
MINUTE APPROVAL
Motion by Tuffree, seconded by Howard to approve the July 13, 2026 Regular Board Meeting Minutes. Motion carried.
CITIZENS WISHING TO BE HEARD
None.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
None.
NEW BUSINESS
Public Works Recommendation to sell DPW Equipment. No recommendation was made pending additional pricing information. No action taken.
Dog Park. Clerk Waege explained that there is a resident interested in talking to the board about a dog park in the Village. No action was taken.
Market Day Events. Tayna Burtness was present regarding the August and September Market Day Events. Tayna Burtness explained that would like a backup location in the event that the Market Day Lot is not usable, due to road construction, for the August and September events. Motion by Morris, seconded by Tuffree to grant permission to use the Village Hall parking lot for the August and September Market Day Events if needed. Motion carried.
Bid for Curb, Gutter, and Sidewalk Replacement on Highway 213. Motion by Morris, seconded by Baars to approve the bid from JB Johnson Bros. Inc for $100,523.00, with an additional 10% contingency of $10,052.00, for a total of $110,575.00. Motion carried.
Bid for Asphalt Replacement on E. Rime Street and E. Howe Street. Motion by Tuffree, seconded by Morris to accept the bid from Payne & Dolan for asphalt replacement on E. Rime Street and E. Howe Street for $82,000.00. Motion carried.
TREASURER REPORT
Motion by Morris, seconded by Howard to approve the June Treasurer Report. Motion carried.
VOUCHERS
Motion by Tuffree, seconded by Baars to approve the vouchers with a check range of 40317-40391. Motion carried.
VILLAGE PRESIDENTS UPDATE ON APPRECITION AND UPCOMING EVENTS
President Burtness explained the following:
· Website has a new tab for construction information.
· Home page has construction route information.
· There are quite a few questions that have arisen regarding the road construction and closures in the village. I will attempt to clarify them later tomorrow in my construction update.
· Our community is saddened to learn of the death of a Parkview student. We want to extend our sympathy to the family and friends of this young man whose life was tragically cut short.
